Sheila Elliott (née Hanna) Funeral Details | Clonoe, Coalisland | January 2026 (2026)

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Sheila Elliott (née Hanna), a woman whose warmth and love touched countless lives. Her absence leaves a void that words can barely describe, but her legacy lives on through the family she cherished so deeply. Sheila peacefully departed on the 9th of January 2026, leaving behind a trail of memories that will forever be treasured.

Sheila was the devoted mother of Laura (Ronan), Aaron (Amanda), Shea, Ciaran, and James, whose lives she shaped with unwavering love and guidance. She was also the adored grandmother of Oisín, whose laughter brought her immeasurable joy. As the beloved daughter of Eddie and Teresa Hanna, and the cherished sister of Maeve, Eamonn (Caoimhe), Bronagh (Dermot), Theresa, Kathryn (Michael), and David (Sinead), Sheila’s role in her family was nothing short of irreplaceable. Her bonds extended beyond blood, as she was deeply loved by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and the entire Hanna and Elliott family circle, as well as her many friends.

But here’s where it gets emotional: Sheila’s life was a testament to the power of love and family, yet her passing raises a question many of us grapple with—how do we honor the legacy of those who meant the world to us? Is it through our memories, our actions, or something more profound?**

Sheila will be reposing at Patsy Taggart’s Funeral Home, located at 4a Western Business Park, Coalisland, BT71 4ND. Visitation hours are from 6 PM to 9 PM on Saturday and from 12 noon to 9 PM on Sunday. On Monday, her final journey will take her to St Patrick’s Church, Clonoe, for an 11 AM Requiem Mass, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

As we bid farewell to Sheila, we are reminded of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment with those we hold dear. And this is the part most people miss: in death, we find a renewed appreciation for life. Sheila’s story invites us to reflect on our own relationships and the love we share. How will you honor the Sheilas in your life?

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on her soul. May her memory be eternal, and may her family find solace in the love she leaves behind. What’s your take on how we best honor the legacy of loved ones? Share your thoughts in the comments below—let’s keep the conversation going.
