Since then, the group has grown to over 350 members, with countless photos of fox-stolen goods shared in hopes of finding their rightful owners. Arvind shared, 'We’ve had two success stories—both toys—which felt amazing. But the downside is, by the time we find them, they’re often chewed to pieces.'

Naturalist and wildlife presenter Mike Dilger weighs in, explaining that foxes, being part of the dog family, are naturally curious and playful. A 2017 study by Brighton and Reading universities highlights that Bristol has one of the highest urban fox populations in the UK, making it a hotspot for these light-fingered gingers. Arvind notes, 'They’re not just prolific; they’ve taken up residence in thousands of back gardens in BS5. They do a lot of thievery.'
It’s not just shoes that are at risk. Katy Spencer from Easton shared how her neighborly foxes have 'gifted' her a collection of jeans. 'They’d leave things in the garden overnight,' she said, though she’s never caught them in the act. 'We don’t leave our washing out anymore,' she added with a laugh.
Arvind remains optimistic about the group’s mission: 'Foxes clearly love these items—chewing, throwing, and burying them. Our hope is to reunite owners with their belongings before they’re too damaged.'
