In a daring move with three laps to go, Bell dove to the inside of Bernal in Turn 1, taking the lead and never looking back. ‘When the yellow came out, I knew I had to try something different,’ Bell explained. ‘The curb was treacherous, and nobody could navigate Turn 4 well on the top. I found enough grip on the bottom to make a move and gain speed down the frontstretch.’
Despite his undefeated week, Bell remains humble about his chances for a fourth Golden Driller trophy. ‘The car is insanely fast, but I’m struggling with consistency,’ he said. ‘It’s not quite ready for Saturday. I need to make it more drivable. If I can do that, we’ll be in the fight.’
